You know, I forgot that I like the IDEA of candy canes, but what a mess they make on your hand! And who can eat a whole one without crunching it; and if you try to suck it all gone it pierces your tongue or lip.

Then you put it down somewhere and the dog sits on it and...

yep. None of those for me, either, this year. Thanks for pointing that out.

anybody here remember Barley Sugar? Little molded hard sugar figures? Think lollipops without sticks. And you licked them slowly while you read your new Christmas books, and then wondered afterward why the pages were stuck together!!!

It's actually very lovely ...
Wouldn't it be fun to lightly coat the dish and its contents in polyurethane, set it out for guests,
and surreptitiously watch them try to extract a piece ...?
