???

Is anyone else getting just a TON of sales calls from church supply related companies this week? I finally just asked the guy on the phone (asking for our Music Minister - HA!) if he realized what time of the liturgical year it was? "Holy Week is NOT a good time."

WTF?

Ummmmm. No. I don't get those calls anymore. They are fielded by one of the 4 phone-answerers...

LS, I am now putting all of my stuff down and driving the seven hours to come and smack you.

Smack her a good one for me too, while you're at it.

And I will deserve it. But I couldn't help myself.

We have caller ID, and if I see it is a toll call or something like that, I just don't answer the phone, I let voice mail get it...*sigh*...but when I am the only one in the office most of the time, it just seems like a good use of technology and my time...sadly I don't have caller ID at home, so I get all the weird calls there...

but yea, Holy Week, or almost...do they have a clue???

I had someone once call me at home trying to get my youth group to sell their Christian T-shirts as a fund raiser. Too bad they were based in Georgia and the Cornflakes-for-brains sales rep forgot that there's a THREE HOUR TIME DIFFERENCE between there and the west coast. Newsflash: No one wants to talk to you at 6:03 A.friggin M.

pcit - oh. my gawd.

mompriest - caller id at home, not at church. And I just can't keep myself from picking it up even when I am busy.

We have had a ton and asked one guy why they are so busy calling us right now. His response "we know how busy a time of year it is and that we can find more clergy in their offices to talk to." Yeah we're all here, but that doesn't mean I want to talk to someone trying to sell me Mega Church supplies for a small congregation and finish the Maundy Thursday bulletins at the same time!
