So... where exactly have I been?

Turns out - as exciting as the uber computer desk is - it does have a major drawback. Since that area is now my husband's office he has literally "cornered" the use of the computer in the evenings.

Hmmm. I will have to figure something out (his and her laptops?) because this not posting thing simply will not do.

I will admit that I am not willing to share a computer with my husband or my children .... it would drive me crazy. Luckily, my husband and I each have a laptop that we get though work.

Jo(e) - my own parents' marriage was saved by buying a second computer.

Girl - I do?

My husband and I have our own computers. Life is much better now!

I am convinced, utterly convinced, that the 21st-century equivalent to Virginia Woolf's radically feminist (and personally life-saving) essay A Room of One's Own is now "A Computer of One's Own." I highly recommend you make the investment in the laptop. Your voice is needed! (And make sure you give yourself wireless access to the internet, too.)

One might even make a convincing argument that this could be your Father's Day gift to your TDH--for what is a more precious gift than a personally-fulfilled partner who is then capable of being fully present to her family? (Okay, that might be a stretch. But something to think about.)

You're darn right it won't do - we've missed you! Good luck on figuring out a solution. (His and Hers computers sound pretty good to me!)

We have our own computers, but I can't convince Pure Luck that little messages back and forth would be romantic. Is that maybe something only girls like? Maybe I should be looking for a girlfriend, instead.

you laugh ppb but that's how it is here. Hubby sends me email or msn texts when we're both here working - bette than shouting from one room to another don't you think?

and songbird ... don't go there :) OK?
