Just a place for me to write down some thoughts and maybe get some feedback... maybe not.
People are stupid.That's what happened.
Will S, are you thinking what I'm thinking?"No no, you want 55-JUMBO. Trust me, given his number I'd be a huge disappointment"and later"OK, Andre will be there in half an hour. [aside] It's just easier that way."
LMAO! Oh, thank you for the laugh!I hate when people call you over and over again and get mad at your machine because you're picking up!
I'm still catching up.Can you tell who or what ROSS is? Or maybe I should just call and ask....Heh, heh.
Juniper - I think reverend mother's quotes are from the show FRIENDS when Ross has a pager in expectation of his ex-wife going into labor. The number he has been assigned is 555-JUMBO so he gets some very interesting calls. In the end, he just starts telling people what they want to hear.Anybody else want to throw out FRIENDS quotes and see if I can peg the episode?
Ooo....I LOVE the Friend's game! How about......my fifties are too big for my money clip and my diamond shoes are too tight!!
girl - Chandler to Ross when he is lamenting the fact that both Julie and Rachel like him.
This could be too random..."Neil Sadaka wears them."
Girl - Okay, that is a good one. I want to say the one with the two parties for Rachel because both her Dad and Mom show up. I think it involves Ross wearing Dr. Green's glasses but I can't remember if it is in the hallway while talking to Dr. Green or in Monica's apartment by the drinks while talking to Rachel's Mom.I know it is in reference to the frames... so yes, Rachel says it to her Mom when her Mom asks about Ross' frames (which are actually Dr. Green's)I would write too much free time... but I really don't have any of that I am just rambling via keyboard as if I do.
Wow...I bow down to you ;)
OK, finish the song and describe the episode:I am Bea, I drink tea..."ANd who did that song make so happy?
Okay Gord... you got me, sort of. It made Ross happy as a child when he used to dress up as a girl. It did NOT make him happy when as an adult Monica used it against him and his protests against Ben wanting to play with a doll rather than G.I. Joe.What I don't remember is what the next line of the song is.I do know the other story lines in that episode revolved around Chandler acting like a "doof" instead of "aloof" in trying to get Janice back and Phoebe took a turn as Joey's agent. But the last line of that song... give me a moment... it will come to me...I am just that sick.
"WON'T YOU DANCE AROUND WITH ME"And for further clarification it was not just any doll, it was a Barbie.pray for me, ws
ANd the people who were made truly happy in the episode upon hearing about the song were Carole and Susan. Monica remembered it and asked Ross why he was so worked up about the Barbie -- while Carol and Susan were in the room.
Ohh... this looks like such a fun game. I want to play, I want to play!!! "Hmm, I don't know...the fifth dentist caved and now they're all recommending Trident?"
Oh yes, Gord. From there came in my opinion one of Susan's best line of the series. When Monica says something like, "And wasn't there a song?"Susan: "Oh please let there be a song."Leslee... I know it was Chandler and it was one of his snide comments, not actually part of a story line... let me think some more.
Leslee, it is a blast from the past - Season one I am pretty sure after Rachel has had enough at the coffee shop and quits (thanks to Chandler's advice) and comes back to her apartment all pumped up after a great interview.Rachel: Guess what? Guess what?Chandler: The 5th doctor caved and now they all recommend Trident? This is the episode where the guys crush the girls in poker so they bring in Monica's aunt who shows them how to play the game.During the rematch Ross and Rachel end up going head to head - each one borrowing money from their respective genders - and when Rachel receives the call that she didn't get the job Ross folds and lets her win the money because, "...look at how happy she is."
Ok, how much thinking and how much googling did you do?That's right of course.
Oh, here's one of my favorites that I'm sure you know right away:"They don't know that we know they know we know."
Leslee - No googling, that is cheating.Of course it is when everyone (but Ross) is in on the fact that Monica and Chandler are "doing it" and they are scheming to make them tell them the truth.Phoebe: And Joey you can't tellJoey: (shrugging his shoulders)Even if I wanted to...
I hardly ever watched friends, so I can't play, but I wanted to make your comments total higher. How's that for Friends?
Also, I once titled a sermon "The One with the Fig Tree." Can you guess what the text was?
Here's one:"Joey: Wait a minute, what's heads and what's tails?CHandler: If you don't know that I 'm not sure I want to play this with you!"Later in the same episode someone else says:Ok, maybe you're right, lets go out for frozen yogurt or something"
Songbird - thank you. As for the sermon, I dunno something Jesusy. Did you know that all of the Friends episodes have titles that start with "The One with the..."
Gord, I know the episode thanks to your hint. That is Ross to Rachel after she suggests they take a break...Him: Ok, maybe you're right, lets go out for frozen yogurt or something" Her: No, I mean a break from us.Ross storms out and meets/hooks up with the hot girl at the copy place.I can see Chandler and Joey saying these lines in my mind, but I cannot picture what exactly the are up too...I will go work on the bulletin for Sunday and see if it pops in my head. So far - they have.
Thanks for the clarification. I'm sheepish taht I'm such a popular culture dope, although glad that my innocent little question gave you an opportunity to show your mighty knowledge in this area. :)But I did know that Katie finally had that baby. And about time. It seems like she's been 7 months preganant for about two years now.
Juniper - I think she has been pregnant that long because it took them that long to find a baby that might look like her fiance.Gord - I think I know the scene, but I have been taking my time trying to figure out how to type it. I think it is when Joey and Chandler are figuring out the 'rules' if they both happen to be with the copy girl... at a similar time. (blush)
Uh yeah, that would be the one...
Phoebe: I could be a secretary. Chandler: Well, you know Phoebs. I don't know if it's your kinda thing, because it involves a lot of being normal. For a large portion of the day. Phoebe: I could do that.
Monica: Is your tongue swelling up? Ross: Either that or my mouth is getting smaller. I loved this episode too....
leslee, should I keep naming episodes or are you just sharing?girl, huh?I like it when the reruns circle around to the first five seasons. Those are vintage.
I think you've proven your extensive knowledge of FRIENDS so I guess I'm just sharing my favorites... we can move on now.
This isn't exactly throwin' down the gauntlet, but tell me this. What is the actor famous for who said these lines..."I have to agree with your friend Phebes..."And,"Oh, and one more thing. It seems quite obvious you were on a break."
r.e. poet - I know the episode is when Rachel flew over to England to interrupt Ross and EM-I-LY's wedding... I can picture the actor who was sitting next to her on the plane but his activities extracurricular to FRIENDS are not coming to me.
House...but I cheated.
So if you cheated, who wins? Cause isn't that one of the nuerosis...
